Dorothy Elaine Barnes

Dorothy Elaine (Farris) Barnes, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Dorothy enjoyed helping others and was known for taking in many stray animals. Too many to count over the years according to her family. Dorothy also enjoyed working around her little farm. She was very artistic, skilled in floral design, pottery, at one point was a professional seamstress with several boutique dress shops in Dallas, Tx. Later in life she was a home health caretaker. Dorothy was born in Itasca, Texas on May 5, 1934. She moved to the Knoxville area in 1990. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Cleveland Farris and Mamie Willard (Davis) Farris, brother Vernon Farris and special friend, Jack Bullen, Sr. She is survived by her son, Kevin (Janet) Cockerham of Itasca, Texas; and brother, Weldon (Linda) Farris of Bedford, Texas. The family would like to thank Justin (grandson of Jack Bullen, Sr) and Kaitlyn Bullen for watching over Dorothy and taking such good care of her over the years. There are no services scheduled.
