Dorothy Jean Bailey

Dorothy J. Bailey (Walton) age 92, of Halls, went to her heavenly home on September 29, 2024. Dorothy was born in Knoxville on June 16, 1932 to the late G. Worth and Bertha Walton. She was a long-time member of Black Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Halls. Dorothy loved her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Belva Walton; daughter, Cathy Murphy; husbands, Joe Bailey and Newell Atkins; sisters, Christine Palmer, Opal Stooksbury, Ruth Best and Janie Mize; brothers, Adrian and Worth Walton, Jr.; niece, Carolyn Lou and nephew, Michael Walton. She is survived by brothers, David Walton (Judy) and Terry Walton (Denise) and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Drive at 11:00am on Friday, October 4, 2024. Rev. Don Walton and Rev. Gary Capps will be officiating the service. Special thanks to Kasey Jackson and her staff for the excellent care of our loved one.
