Don Wayne Cox

Don Wayne Cox, Sr., of Heiskell, born September 18, 1958 and went home to be with the Lord early Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Nola Cox and five bothers. He will be greatly missed by his son, Don Cox II; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Jake Townsend; grandchildren, Daisha, Alexis, Dylan, Cadi, Cameron, Miekayle, Emily, Willoh, Jurnee; great-grandchildren, Amaleigh, Brex; brothers, Ralph and Starell; sisters, Carol and Shirley; and his drag racing friends around the country. Don certainly had a profound love for his family and drag racing. Family and friends will gather at Knoxville Dragstrip 160 Raceway Drive in Maynardville on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 6:00 pm to celebrate the life of Don and to allow him one final trip down the dragstrip.
