Dixie Janine "Jan" French

Dixie Janine “Jan” French, age 48, of Knoxville, passed away December 27, 2015. She was a member of Marbledale Baptist Church. Jan worked for many years as a caregiver at Shannondale. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by father, Jack Leek Sr.; and mother, Macy Leek. She is survived by daughter, Whitley Smith (Preston); step-daughter, Jennifer French Cardwell (David); grandchildren, Brandon Gardner, Nicole Gardner, Brent Berry and Jessie Berry; brother, Jack Leek, Jr. (Melissa); and sister, Sheila Mohney; special friend, Darrell W.; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice for their excellent care. Funeral service 8 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, Rev. Randy Troutman officiating. Family and friends will gather 10:45am Thursday at Asbury Cemetery for 11am interment service. Family will receive friends 6-8 Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
