Dinzle “Dink” Adams, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He entered his heavenly home and was reunited with his beloved wife, Carol Adams, whom he faithfully loved and cherished.

Dink was a devoted Christian man whose faith guided his life, his family and his work. He was a man of integrity, warmth and steady leadership, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. Dink dedicated his career to education and athletics, serving as a teacher, principal and football coach at Halls High School. His love for Halls ran deep, from the faculty and students he mentored, to the teams he coached, to the community he served so faithfully. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he shaped and the football field that proudly bears his name stands as a lasting tribute to his influence and commitment. He was a true sports enthusiast, with a lifelong love for football and fishing. Above all, he treasured his family. Known for his great sense of humor and quick wit, Dink had a remarkable ability to make others laugh and feel at ease. Even as his memory faded, his sharp humor and joyful spirit never did.

Born to the late Everett and Thelma Adams, Dink was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Adams; sisters, Voncile (Joel) Dykes, Dot (Lowell) Ramsey, Janice (Ken) Campbell and Marty (Bear) Witt; and brother, Dale (Barbara) Adams.

Dink is survived by his children, Kim (David) Byrd, Candy (Adam) Parker and Angie (Gary) Ottinger; his grandchildren, Braxton Adams, Summer (Santi) Sanabria, Savanna Parker, Saylor Parker, Brenli Ottinger, Breece Ottinger and Caleb Byrd; his great-grandchild, Journey Sanabria; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dink will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, a respected educator and coach and a man whose faith, laughter and love left a lasting mark. His life was one well lived and his legacy will continue through the generations who loved him.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 3:30pm until 6:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel with a service to follow at 6:00pm with Pastor Keith Tillman officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Luminary Cemetery in Ten Mile, TN for a 2:00pm graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bell’s Campground Baptist Church Building for the Future Fund at P.O. Box 958 Powell, TN 37849 or at bcbcpowell.org/give.
