Dean Richards

Delmar Dean Richards, age 88 of Powell, TN, passed away May 17, 2025. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, a former member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and a deacon and choir leader of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Dean also served in the US Army. Preceded in death by beloved wife of 67 years Geraldine (West) Richards, parents Sargent and Bessie Richards, siblings Jonah, Bob, Burb, Linda, Jimmy and Buford. Survived by children Gary and Janet Richards, Jeff and Kim Richards, Keith and Karen Richards; grandchildren Marcus, Brandi (Mike), Jeffrey, Joshua, Justin (Megan) and Alyssa; great-grandchildren Braydon, Haley, Jacob, Jailee, Jackson, Ellie, Allison and Logan; siblings Faye (Richards) and Charles Shelby, Frank Richards and sister-in-law Jane West; numerous nieces and nephews; devoted niece and husband Beverly (Hatmaker) and Johnny Copeland; devoted friends, who were like his own children, Randy Wallen and Debbie (Jones) Hicks. Special thanks to the Tennova North staff for their exceptional support and care of Dean during his recent illness. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel.
