Johnson, Delilah Gail - age 69, of Halls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and children Thursday, December 21, 2023 after a short illness. Delilah was a pillar of strength for her friends and family. She found the love of her life in Randle Johnson and her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. She loved the beach, traveling, smiling, laughing and making sure everyone was happy. She was a best friend to many and a “bonus” parent and provider for her siblings. She will be remembered for her contagious smile and ability to find good in everyone, as well as her insistence that everyone was well fed and wore a coat and hat when temperatures turned cold.
Born August 15, 1954 in Clinton, Tennessee, Mrs. Johnson was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Multipliers Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by her father, William Glenn Phillips, grandparents, James and Elsie Phillips and Roy and Ailene Disney; her sister, Jacqueline Diane Suffridge; brothers-in-law, Steve Johnson, Ray Perry and sister-in-law, Brenda Jones.
She is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate, Randle Johnson; son Joseph Glenn Johnson and wife, Kimberly; son Shannon Johnson and wife, Jill; two grandchildren, Grant and Kylie Johnson; mother, Lorene Phillips; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie Perry, Barbara and Billy Shaw, and Angie and Scott Epps; brothers and sister-in-law, Darrel and Pam Phillips and Gary and Melody Phillips, all of Knoxville; 8 nieces and nephews; 4 great-nieces and nephews;
Receiving of Friends will be held Tuesday, December 26, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Family will hold a private burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Christ United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice in memory of Delilah.
