Debra Jane Ray

Miss Debra Jane Ray (Moody) of Kingston, TN, formally of Knoxville, TN, gained her wings at home surrounded by her family in Kingston, TN, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

She was born in Texas. She was the daughter of the late Mildred Jane Reese and Louis Earl Reese. She was of the Christian faith and loved Jesus. Her love ran deep for her daughter, Crystal Spivey and her grandbabies. She loved watching Murder She Wrote and Scooby Doo. She loved holidays, especially Christmas. She loved cokes, her sweet teas and Reece Cups.

Debra was a nurse for 37 years; she worked at every hospital in Knoxville. Her patients and every hospital loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her best friend, Faye; special aunt, Barb; and uncle, Bill.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Spivey; son in law, Jackie Spivey of Knoxville, TN; two granddaughters, Kayla Spivey and Mariah Spivey; grandson in law, Christian Reynolds; two great grandbabies, Violet Reynolds and Zaiden Reynolds of Kingston, TN; nephew, Paul Hunley and his wife, Christine Hunley of Heiskell, TN; sister, Connie Slone of McCrory, AR; sister, Brenda Doss of Knoxville, TN; sister, Christine Moody; her good friend, Cheryl Canada; and her lifelong friend, Chuck Mills.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with a Memorial service to follow at 6:00pm.
