David William Tapp

David William Tapp age 66, of West Knoxville, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his home. He was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He was a 1978 graduate of Gibbs High School. He went on to work for Robert P. Phillps for 26 years. In his spare time, he loved watching Nascar races, he was an avid Dale Earnhardt racing fan. David was a devoted father, brother and employee.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Essie and William Tapp; brother-in-law, Greg Snyder and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his daughter, Katie (Chase Long) Trout; grandsons, Landon Long and Remington Long; sisters, Gloria Tapp and Celia Synder; brother, Gary (Marzena) Tapp; devoted nephew, Cayden Yarbough; nephews, Clint Tapp, Jason Fee and Brian Wittmer and Brandon Wittmer; several great nieces and nephews; aunts, Edna West and Karen Tapp; special friends, Kim Phillips, Emily Phillips and Katie Phillips; and fur baby, Loui.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, followed by a 7:00 PM funeral service officiated by Rev. James Webber. Family and friends will meet at 9:00 AM on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City to leave in procession for a 10:00 AM graveside service at Clear Springs Church Cemetery, Corryton, TN.
