David Ray Hembree

David R. Hembree, age 78, of Powell, TN and formerly of Lafollette, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 25, 2026.  David was a veteran and served in the United States Army.  He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord with all of his heart.  He loved to fish and was an avid pool player.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3559 Volunteer Aerie Powell where he played in many pool tournaments with the Powell Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cubert & Jewell Hembree; wife, Cookie Hembree; son, David J. Hembree and his brother, Donnie Joe Hembree.

David is survived by his daughter, April (Greg) Harris; grandchildren, Charles Cornute, Zachary Cornute, Codi Burnett, Brandon Hembree, Corey Hembree, Austin Hembree, and Desaray Hembree.  David is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service for David at a later date.
