David Gene Peterson

David Gene Peterson, age 99, passed away on January 6, 2025. He was born in Halls, Tennessee to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Cox) Peterson. Gene was a 32nd Degree Mason and former Master of Powell Lodge #582. He was also a 60+ year member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, and owned and operated Gene’s Alignment Service, which opened in 1966.

Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Ester Peterson; a son, Rex B. Peterson and a grandson, Rex B. Peterson. He is survived by his son, Joe Peterson (wife Jenny) and two grandchildren, Michael Peterson and Savannah Love.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel. A Masonic service will take place at 1:00 P.M., followed by a funeral service with military honors. Pastor Zachary McGill will officiate. Gene will be laid to rest at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
