Patton, Sr., David C. – age 82, passed away Friday, November 29th, 2024, peacefully at home. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Maryville, TN. A retired Air Force serviceman of 31 years, he volunteered with the Retiree Activities Office of the 134 ARW. He also operated a consulting firm for cyclotron operations and repair. He enjoyed working on his farm, bird watching, gardening, woodworking, and tinkering with old cars and tractors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Story Patton, sister, Judith Killman, brother, Timothy Patton, and parents, Sallie and Gaydon Patton. He is survived by his son, David C. Patton II (Linda), John Robert Patton (Joshua), grandchildren: Kathrynn Rogers (Patrick), Andy Wilson, Matthew Patton (Hannah), Jake Wilson (Vicki), Sage Petersen, and Jasper Mayne Patton; six great-grandchildren, sister, Jill Connolly (Jack), special companion, Sandra Davis, and his dog, Missy. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, at 1:45 pm at East TN State Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Hwy) for a 2:00 pm graveside service, with full military honors presented by East TN Veterans Honor Guard.
