David Louis Parks

David Louis Parks, age 69, of Powell, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. He worked for the city of Knoxville for many years, ensuring everyone could travel safely through our busy streets.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Georgia Parks, and a sister, Nancy Gibbs.

David is survived by wife of 48 years, Sandra Woods Parks; children, Jennifer Nichols (William Brown, Jr.) and Christy Parks; grandchildren, Michael Collins and Samantha Vargas; great-grandchildren, Samia Vargas and Juan Vargas, along with their father, Luis Vargas-Limon; siblings, Harold Reese Parks (Marsha), Mary Ann Thomas, Virginia Walker, and Donnie Parks.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses and wonderful staff at Parkwest Medical Center, as well as Samantha and Pamela at Fresenius Kidney Care.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to further kidney Research.
