David Munneke, age 61, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on October 13, 1964, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Allen S. Munneke and Janice R. Munneke.
David is survived by his father, Allen Munneke; his beloved daughter, Allyson Munneke (Mitchell); Allyson's mother and co-parent, LuAnn Munneke; his sisters, Beth Kovalenko (Michael) and Jennifer Russell (Keith); his nieces, Amanda Kovalenko (Emanuele), Hope Russell, and Devon Russell; his nephews, Christopher Kovalenko and Alexander Kovalenko; his great-nephew, Francesco Bucaro; his aunts, Darlene Munneke and Suzy Wright; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice R. Munneke.
Dave spent his career as a software project manager and entrepreneur. A natural problem-solver, he approached both his professional and personal life with creativity, determination, and skill. If something needed to be built, repaired, or improved, Dave embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. His work led to lifelong friendships and opportunities to travel throughout the world.
Above all, Dave was devoted to his daughter, Allyson, and treasured the time they spent together. Outside of work, he enjoyed automobiles, life on the water, boating, swimming, fishing, carpentry, fine food and wine, and gathering with family and close friends.
David had a gift for making friends wherever life took him. His magnetic personality, sense of humor, and remarkable storytelling ability brought joy and laughter to those around him. He possessed a special twinkle in his eye that warmed the hearts of family, friends, and even strangers. His love, loyalty, and protective nature were the hallmarks of his character.
A devoted son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, David touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and bright spirit. His energy, laughter, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
