David N. Johansen

David N. Johansen, 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 21, 2026, surrounded by the ones he cherished most.

David was raised and loved in Longview, Texas, by Mary and Herman Johansen, alongside his brother and sister. He later met the love of his life and his greatest treasure, his wife, Tammy. Together they shared 37 beautiful years of marriage. David was a devoted husband, father, believer, and friend to all who knew him.

David was a natural caregiver and the root of his family. He spent many years doing work he truly loved, providing for and caring for his family. His career was something he was proud of, and he genuinely enjoyed every interaction he had along the way. He always stayed true to his word. David was someone you could count on. He had a smile that could brighten an entire room, and the twinkle in his eye reflected genuine happiness, love, and pride.

David loved to be active and rarely sat still. He especially enjoyed beach trips with his family and never missed an opportunity to take them on vacation. He treasured holidays spent together and especially loved when his wife baked him a sweet treat.

David was an active member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. He rarely missed a Sunday morning worship service, where he loved to sing and praise his Lord and Savior. His faith was an important part of who he was, and his love for the Lord was evident in the way he loved and cared for others.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Herman Johansen, and his brother, Paul Ray.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Tammy; his daughter, Jori, and her husband, Christian, whom he loved as a son; his son, Brian; his special pup, Uma; his sister, Mary; and his nephew, Jack. He will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and countless friends who were blessed to know and love him.

David leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, devotion, and kindness that will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now home with his Lord and Savior, and that one day they will see him again.

A memorial service celebrating David’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
