Darrell Eugene Raley, Jr.

Darrell (DJ) Eugene Raley, Jr., age 48, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a 3 year battle with ALS. DJ graduated from Gibbs High School in 1997, and he graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2001.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, devout Christian with the most generous heart, avid outdoorsman, cherished son, loving brother, and faithful friend.  He is survived by the love of his life, Stephanie; his beloved children, son Hunter and daughter in love, Sydney, and daughter Grace; his father, Darrell Raley, Sr.; his mother Sandy Beggs (Tim); his sister Kristie (Scott) Oaks. He leaves behind special nieces and nephews, extended family members, and special friends. DJ was preceded in death by his grandparents Dewey and Helen Raley, Roy and Ethel Shrader, and baby cousin Noah Shrader.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2026, at Clear Springs Baptist Church, 7350 Tazewell Pike, Corryton, Tennessee 37721 followed by a celebration of life service at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Earl and Rev. Justin Pratt officiating. In honor of DJ’s life, we invite you to wear a ‘We Press On’ shirt if you have one and/or camouflage. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The ALS Association.
