Darlene Oakley

Darlene Marie (Walters) Oakley “Duckie” passed away at home on January 24, 2023 at the age of 63. She was born to Shirley Walters and William Walters of Medina NY. She was a loving mother to four children. She loved to drive 18 wheelers and being over the road. She worked at Waffle House (Lovell Rd.) as a door seater and server, Buddy’s Market and Deli as a manager, and drove a truck for 19 years with TLD being her last trucking job. She is preceded in death by Walter and Ethel Scharlau Sr. of New York, Charles and Irene Walter of New York; parents, Shirely (Walters) Davis and William Walters; aunt and uncles, Jean and Joel Dingman, Walt and Barb Scharlou; ex-husbands, Steven Gattis and Donald “Donnie” Oakey and David Terry; grandchildren, Daisy Terry and Alias Whitley. She is survived by her siblings, Donna and Stanley Breeden of Powell, Diane Dyer of Strawberry Plains, Danny and Shirley K. Walters of Heiskell, and William (BJ) and Susan Walters of Powell; her four children, Miranda Terry Cole, Jana Brooke Strange, Marshall Earl Terry and Brandi Michelle Terry; she had 16 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday January 27th 4:00-6:00 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. The Service will be held at the Fountain City Chapel at 6:00.
