Dallas Ray Humphries

Dallas “Ray” Humphries, 56, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. 

Ray was born on February 1, 1968, in Knoxville, TN to Dallas and Faye Humphries.

First and foremost, Ray loved the Lord. He was a good man and loved everyone. He was an avid outdoors-man, spending countless hours camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He had a kind word for everyone. Ray lived by the simple truth of ‘just be good to everyone’ a trait he learned from the strong bond between his mother and Aunt Sharon. Ray shared those values with his son, and best friend, Kai – who will carry on that legacy.

Ray is preceded in death by his grandmother, Viola Cooper and survived by son, Kai Ray Humphries; daughter, Ashley Humphries; parents, Dallas and Faye Humphries; mother of his son, Nicole Marie Stonemark; siblings, Stephen Humphries and David Humphries (Debby); aunts, Sharon Bell and Darlene Ownby (Ronnie); special friends Tom and Charlotte McDonald; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; also survived by his second family, the members of Quality Steel, where he worked as a night shift supervisor since 1995.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Ray will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery (3500 
Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918) at 1:00 pm.   

Ray was a wonderful son, father and friend.  He will be greatly missed.
