Cheryl Mallonee West

Cheryl Mallonee West, age 81, of Powell, TN, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 at her home.

Cheryl worked as an LPN in Oak Ridge at Westmall Medical Park and Methodist Medical Center in the 70s. After that, she went to work at different physicians’ offices until she retired at 52 years old. She always took care of her family and took great care of her mother when she fell ill. She loved going to yard sales to find good deals and also loved the mountains.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Reba Mallonee; siblings Christine, June, Buddy, Linda, Teresa and Paul

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry West; children, Missy West of Powell, TN, and Jay West (Trina) of Valley Center, CA.; brother, Keith Mallonee (Edna); grandchildren, Taylor Henderson (Dan) of Escondido, CA., Laine Burrichter (Nick) of Chesapeake, VA; and three great-grandchildren.

Family would like to thank the Covenant Hospice staff for the wonderful care Cheryl received, especially Donna, Juhika, Jenna, Hannah, Zak, Chaplain Rebecca, Cindy, Michelle and Jane.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel from 5:00pm – 7:00pm with a service to follow at 7:00pm. Family will gather on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 10:45am for an 11:00am graveside service at Bells Campground Cemetery.
