Cheryl Darlene Cowan

Cheryl D. (Rutherford) Cowan, age 74, passed away June 4, 2019. She attended Friendship Baptist Church. Cheryl volunteered for many years for the Karns School System as a nurse and at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Preceded in death by husband Robert Grant Cowan; partner Marvin Walker and parents Charles Rutherford and Marjorie Franklin Cupp. Left to cherish her memory are children Lisa Yount (Scot), Robbie Cowan (Ella) and John-Jon Cowan; grandchildren Austin Grant, Audrey Grace, Autumn Giana, Garret Wade and Tavon Truman; great grandson S.J. Strader; special uncle John Franklin of LaFollette; sister Kay Barra of Illinois; friend and caregiver Jessica Cowan; special friend Gail Treece; 2 special fur babies, Charlie and Pistol; and a host of extended family, dear friends and adopted family. The family will host A Celebration of Life and Pot Luck Supper on June 21, 2019, from 6-9pm at Friendship Baptist Church, 8307 Ball Camp Pike, Knoxville, TN 37931, please bring a covered dish and a favorite memory to share!
