Charlotte Poe Walsh

Charlotte (Hawkins) Poe Walsh, born December 26, 1938, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital starting her career in the Credit Union and moving quickly to the personnel department, where she worked for 25 years helping many young people start their career in the healthcare field.

She loved to volunteer and was active in the Akima Club in the 70’s and early 80’s. Charlotte was an avid golfer and loved spending her retirement years in New Smyrna Beach. She attended church as a child at Bookwalter United Methodist Church and most recently attended St. Albert the Great Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by parents, S.H. and Blanche Hawkins; husband, Charlie R. Poe; son-in-law, Robert “Barney” Rhyne; great granddaughter, Mabry Kate Webb; sister-in-law, Sarah Hawkins.

Survived by husband of 23 years, Edward Walsh; daughters, Sherral Poe and Teresa Poe Rhyne; granddaughters, Christin Webb (Kyle), Carley Wuellenweber (Kyle); great grandchildren, Owen Webb, Parker Wuellenweber, Copeland Wuellenweber and Sonnie Webb; brothers, Joe Hawkins (Sara) and David Hawkins; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers of Sacred Ground Hospice House and Gentiva Hospice for their kindness and loving care.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a service beginning at 7:00pm with Pastor Doug Roberts officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:15am to go in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00am graveside service.
