Charles Thomas Wright

Charles Thomas Wright, 81, of Knoxville, TN passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026. He was born in Spruce Pine, NC April 8, 1944.

Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Viola Freeman Wright, and children Tammy Manganello and Tracy Wright. He is also survived by his sister Sabra Robinson, nieces, nephews, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and sisters and his eldest son, William Kevin Wright.

Charles was a master craftsman who spent his career in the furniture industry, working in every area of manufacturing. He enjoyed the design and build aspect the most and was known for his strong work ethic and sense of humor. An avid and talented golfer, his love of the game made sure he never missed an opportunity to play a course. Later in his career, he was traveling around the world and discovering new golf courses on every trip.

He liked to make people laugh and could strike up a conversation with a stranger and have them feeling like an old friend in minutes. He had a big personality and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
