Charles Mitch Humphrey, age 64, Sevierville, TN, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, from a heart attack. He is preceded in death by parents, Raymond Humphrey and Jewell Laws Humphrey and brother-in-law, Danny Cox. Survived by brother, Steve (Vickie), sisters, Cathy Cox, and Beth Nelson (David). Also, many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Mitch was talented and gifted with many things. He was an accomplished & respected jeweler, creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces for many clients. He was gifted musically, self-taught, played several instruments and was a member of several bands over the years to include the Muddy Walters band, Dr. Pink, The Big Hot, Cripple Creek, Blind Shuffle, Bad Rooster, Cheyenne & Renegade. He was an employee of several jewelry stores in Knoxville and most recently for 15 years with American Jewelry in Pigeon Forge.
Mitch loved to hunt and fish, spending a lot of time outdoors. If the fishing wasn’t good, he would be found walking the banks of Norris and area lakes searching for arrowheads to add to his collections. He loved his dog, Charlie, who went to work with him most days and helped to entertain the staff and customers.
Mitch was a good friend to many. Special thanks to Russ and Chris Myers & staff at American Jewelers for befriending him all these years and to Tommy Mullins and James & Tracy Long, his wonderful longtime friends.
