Carolyn Ann Dunsmore

Carolyn Ann Elkins Dunsmore, age 77, of Powell, TN, went home to be with Jesus on September 22, 2025. She was the first child of Harvey G. Elkins and Loraine Bridges Elkins. She was a graduate of Halls High School and state nursing school.

Preceded in death by parents, Harvey and Loraine; grandparents, Rev. James Edgar and Jessie Elkins, Samuel Bridges and Aggie Bridges of Anderson Co; sister, Judy Elkins; father and mother-in-law, Everett Dunsmore (Ruth)

Survived by her loving husband, Everett “Alan” Dunsmore; sons, Todd Wesley Dunsmore (Jennifer), Tyler Shawn Dunsmore (Rene); godsons, Corey and Caden Bosma; grandchildren, Jacob, Luke, Megan and Ella Dunsmore sisters, Diana Gail Matsumoto (David), Susan Kiser (Dennis); brothers, Ronnie Elkins (Barbara), Scott Elkins (Kathy), Brian Elkins; sisters-in-law, Karen Sneed (Gary), Elizabeth Krenek (Ken); brothers-in-law, Mark Dunsmore (Cindi), Larry Dunsmore (Kim-deceased); special cousin Edward Monroe (Lee); several loved nieces, nephews and many church families from California to Virginia and Tennessee.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 12:15pm at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for an 12:30pm graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, or a missionary organization of your choice in memory of Carolyn.
