Ocala

Carol Annette Thomas Greene Beliveau, age 83 of Andersonville, TN and Ocala, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31,2026. Beloved and cherished by all who knew her, Carol will be remembered for her warmth, grace, style, humor, wisdom, and her boundless and enduring love for family and friends. Born to Eva Mae Thomas (nee Keck) and Howard Calloway Thomas, Carol was raised in Knoxville, where she graduated from Central High School, Class of 1961, and later from the University of Tennessee in 1968. She was a lifelong and devoted member of Central Baptist Church.

Carol dedicated 30 years to teaching Home Economics with Norfolk Public Schools in Norfolk, VA where she made a lasting impact on her students and colleagues alike. She had a gift for making a house a welcoming home with open doors, whether through her love of cooking and baking, her generosity in sharing both food and recipes, or her remarkable talents as a seamstress and quilter. A proud member of the Norris Quilt Guild, Bits & Pieces, she created beautiful quilts that were both works of art and lasting expressions of love for her family.

A woman of many talents and interests, Carol delighted in creative pursuits, from her bedazzled crafts to her thoughtful handwritten cards, each one a small treasure. She had a deep love of travel, especially cruising, and enjoyed many adventures, including quilting cruises that combined her passions. She was an avid reader and active member of book clubs in both Tennessee and Florida. Ever embracing connection in all its forms, she created "Nana's Family Chat", a cherished online space where she kept loved ones near and far closely connected.

Carol was a true and steadfast friend all throughout her life- the heart of many close-knit circles formed in high school, college, and the communities she called home. With natural grace and an engaging spirit, she captivated those around her with her wit, animated storytelling, and wisdom. She was a keen observer of life and a trusted confidante; the one to call for a listening ear, sound advice, or a shared laugh. Carol was known for her playful sense of humor and was fond of saying, "let them eat cake; I'll have the icing!", which perfectly captured her spirit.

Always impeccably put together, Carol was known for her polished style; her hair and nails perfectly kept, her makeup thoughtfully done, and her fashion sense both flattering and effortless. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Mae and Howard Calloway Thomas, aunts and uncles, and brother-in-law, Robert Schnock. She is survived by her devoted husband of thirty-five years, Wendell Thomas Beliveau; her loving sister, Cheryl Thomas Schnock of Ponte Vedra, Florida; her beloved children, Gina Greene Millett Houze (Gary) and Scott Greene of Knoxville, TN and her stepchildren, Amie Beliveau Geremia (Daren) of Midlothian, Virginia, and Lisa Tesh of Wesley Chapel, Florida. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Greene Strickland (Christopher); Corey Millett; Gino Millet (Victoria Espier); Jacob Greene (Claire Whitcomb); and Carolanne Millett; as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Violet Millett, Keegan Strickland, Richard Greene, and Eden Greene; and her step-great-grandchildren, Abbey Tesh, and Olivia, Dalton, and Vivian Geremia.

Carol's life was marked by remarkable tenacity and an indomitable spirit, balanced by her kindness, creativity, and deep devotion to those she loved. Her family remains in awe of her strength and resilience in the face of Inclusion Body Myositis, and of the way she continued to live life fully and on her own terms. Though the world will be quieter without the joy and light she brought to it, it is forever richer for the life she lived and the love she gave. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered as a life beautifully and fully lived.
