Carol Ann Rawlins Flanary, age 72 of Knoxville was called home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus , on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Sacred Ground Hospice House. She succumbed to a series of severe health issues after a short but intense battle for life. She lived a life of travel and adventure that spanned 2 continents as the cherished wife of an Air Force Officer. She served as a member and/or officer in numerous military family organizations. Her tireless efforts brought relief and assistance to countless Junior enlisted members of the Air Force. She was extremely active in church life and member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, and other activities before health issues intervened forcing an end to her activities. Preceded in death by parents; Rose and Raymond Rawlins. She is survived by her children; son, David Patrick Armitage and wife Aneisa; daughter, Hayley Michelle Armitage and life partner, Jaclyn Burdette; husband of 31 years, James Flanary; her two puppies, Tucker and Gracie; brother, Raymond Rawlins and his wife, Marilyn; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She gave so much and asked so little in life. She is a beloved wife, mother, and sister; she is missed so much. Family and friends may call at their convenience from 9:00 am til 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City. Family and friends will meet 9:45 am Thursday, July 18, 2024 at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (2200 E. Gov John Sevier Hwy) for a 10:00 a.m. committal service, Rev. Pat Herring officiating.
