Carlene “Carol” “Honey” Adams, age 79, entered her heavenly home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life filled with faith, devotion and joy.
Carol was a strong Christian woman and a dedicated member of Bell’s Campground Baptist Church, where she joyfully served in the children’s ministry for many years. She lived out her faith daily through her selflessness, kindness and unwavering love for others.
Carol’s life was a testimony of faith, love and generosity. Her radiant spirit and joyful heart will be deeply missed, yet her influence will live on forever.
Born to the late Burke and Winona Gordon, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Fannie (Jerry) Arthur; brother, Dewey Gordon and brother-in-law, Earl Lett. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dink Adams, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage and their children, Kim (David) Byrd, Candy (Adam) Parker and Angie (Gary) Ottinger. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Evelyn (Dwight) Dixon, Jeanette (Boyd) Raby, Patsy Lett, Phyllis (Ray) Malone and Kenny (Kaye) Gordon.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Braxton Adams, Summer (Santi) Sanabria, Savanna Parker, Saylor Parker, Brenli Ottinger, Breece Ottinger and Caleb Byrd and her great-grandchild, Journey Sanabria.
Carol was a dedicated hairstylist who began her career as a teenager and never retired, working faithfully until illness no longer allowed. She brought beauty not only through her work, but through the way she made everyone around her feel loved and valued. Outside of work, she loved being in the sun—whether at the lake or the beach—and enjoyed keeping up with sports, which were always on her TV.
Above all, Carol treasured her family. She joyfully prepared Sunday lunches each week, making enough food to feed not just her loved ones, but anyone who needed a place at the table. She never put herself first; instead, she poured her heart into caring for others. Her family and friends will always remember her as the happiest, most selfless person they had ever known.
