Carl Edward Emge, age 96 of Powell, TN went to be with the Lord and his precious Ruby on Thursday, September 19, 2024, with his family by his side. He was a graduate of Halls High School, Class of 1948. Carl was a longtime member of Fair Havens Baptist Church since 1949 where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Director and numerous other positions during his lifetime. He was a longtime employee of Lonnie’s Auto Trim for forty plus years. Carl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Ruby Hipsher Emge; parents, Samuel and Mollie Emge; sisters, Lois Jean Neff and Dovie Patterson and faithful companion, Bonnie the dog. Carl is survived by his children, Mike (Pauline) Emge, Terry (Mary Kay) Emge and Susan Humphreys; grandchildren, Beth (Wayne) Bullock, Vince (Sarah) Emge, Nicholas (Jennifer) Emge and Laura (Zane) Fair; ten great-grandchildren; brother, David Emge. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2024, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Reverend Kemp Wynn officiating. Family and friends will meet by 10:45 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery for a 11:00 AM graveside service.
