Dr. Carl Anthony (Tony) Bradley, age 76, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in Powell. He loved God, his family, and his community.
Tony was a 1967 graduate of Central High School, a 1971 graduate of the University of Tennessee, and graduated from dental school at UT Memphis in 1975. He served the Department of Health in Virginia from 1975-1978, where he met his wife, Gay, and they were married on January 26, 1978. They moved to Knoxville later that year and he opened his dental practice in Powell on September 5. During his practice, he was a member of the American Dental Association, and during some periods held leadership roles as president of the Powell Business and Professional Association. After 40 years of serving the Powell community, he retired in December of 2018.Tony was a true Vol Fan for Life, and enjoyed coaching his two son’s baseball and basketball in the Fountain City and Powell communities. If his kids or grandkids had a game or performance, Tony would be there, as well as those of his beloved nieces and nephews, as his schedule allowed. He also enjoyed camping, boating, golf, and snowboarding and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Powell for 38 years.
Tony is preceded in death by father, Frank Bradley; his mother, Beatrice Gentry-Underwood; and brother, James Bradley.
He is survived by wife, Linda Gay Bradley; children, Mark Armentrout and Chris Bradley; grandchildren, Alyssa Hawkins, Austin Bradley, Abby Armentrout, Ciara Bradley, Canaan Bradley, Judah Bradley and Shepherd Bradley; great grandchildren, Dalton Hawkins, Camryn Bradley and Emory Dickey; his sister, Faye Williams; and a host of greatly loved nieces and nephews.
His family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support as well as FBC Powell for hosting the service.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Powell from 4:00pm-6:00pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6:00pm with Matt Mercer and Doug Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in his name to the Research of Lewy Body Dementia or Vascular Dementia.
