Caleb Huertas

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Caleb Gene Huertas, a joyful and vibrant young man who left this world far too soon on November 11, 2025, at the age of 20.

Caleb brought light, laughter and relentless love to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His smile could brighten any room and his gentle spirit drew people to him with compassion and love. Whether he was sharing a joke, helping a friend or pursuing his passions—cars, guitars and watching sunrises—Caleb lived each moment with kindness, curiosity and joy.

He was a proud graduate of Karns High School. Caleb was known for his deep-hearted nature and his contagious laughter, he truly made others feel seen and valued. His presence filled any space with comfort and warmth. The memories he created will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him.

Caleb is survived by his mother, Maria Philcox Huertas; father, Jorge Huertas; stepfather, Larry Kwiecien; stepmother, Olga Velandia; sisters, Caitlin Chavez, Lindsey Chavez; and his niece, Lucy. He is also remembered by many relatives and an incredible circle of friends who cherished him deeply.

A celebration of Caleb’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel from 9:00am –11:00 am with guest speakers from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. A procession will follow to Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 E Simpson Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920 for a 3:00pm interment service where he will be laid to rest surrounded by loved ones in peaceful serenity.

Guests are invited to wear their favorite tie-dye in his honor.  Thank you!

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we can find comfort in knowing that Caleb is with his Creator; his light will continue to surround us, and his memory will never fade. Love like Caleb.
