Burl “Doug” Douglas Jett age 85, of Knoxville, TN, passed into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Sonlight Baptist Church. He loved his family dearly and always had a smile for everyone.
Doug was greeted at Heaven’s Gates by the love of his life, wife, Pauline Jett; parents, Elwood and Bernie Jett; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Retha McMahan; grandson, Corey Whaley; brothers, Bill Jett, Earl Jett and James Jett; brothers-in-law, Jim McDaniel, Mack Galyon and Larry Tittsworth; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Galyon.
He is survived by his children, Teresa (Ken) Hipshire, Tammy (Eddie) Keith, Tracie Stone, Jamie (Kelly) Jett and Teresa Huebotter; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Wilma McDaniel and sisters-in-law, Doris Jett and Evelyn Tittsworth.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. Eddie Myers. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Knob Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment. Serving as pallbearers, Jamie Jett, Ken Hipshire, Eddie Keith, Ricky Coram, Chris Hipshire and Blake Keith.
