Burl Douglas "Doug" Jett

Burl Douglas "Doug" Jett age 85, of Knoxville, TN, passed into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Sonlight Baptist Church. He loved his family dearly and always had a smile for everyone.

Doug was greeted at Heaven’s Gates by the love of his life, wife, Pauline Jett; parents, Elwood and Bernie Jett; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Retha McMahan; grandson, Corey Whaley; brothers, Bill Jett, Earl Jett and James Jett; brothers-in-law, Jim McDaniel, Mack Galyon and Larry Tittsworth; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Galyon.

He is survived by his children, Teresa (Ken) Hipshire, Tammy (Eddie) Keith, Tracie Stone, Jamie (Kelly) Jett and Teresa Huebotter; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Wilma McDaniel and sisters-in-law, Doris Jett and Evelyn Tittsworth.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. Eddie Myers. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Knob Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment. Serving as pallbearers, Jamie Jett, Ken Hipshire, Eddie Keith, Ricky Coram, Chris Hipshire and Blake Keith.
