Buford Eugene (Gene) Longmire

Buford Eugene (Gene) Longmire, Jr., of West Palm Beach, age 76, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, 2024, at his home in Florida surrounded by love and family.  

Born July 16, 1947, to Buford and Helen Longmire in Knoxville, Tennessee, he graduated Central High School in 1965 and soon moved to Florida where he graduated North Technical Institute, started his family, and established Longmire Building Corporation. 

Gene is reunited with loved ones preceding him in death, brother, Paul Edward Longmire, father, Buford Eugene Longmire, Sr., and mother, Helen Gentry Longmire.  

Gene is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karlyce Tyson Longmire, daughter, Jessica Gentry (Sam), two sons, Brian Longmire (Melissa), Jeremy Longmire, grandchildren, Parker Gentry, John Gentry, Alycia Longmire, Skyla Longmire, Annalise Longmire, sisters, Marta Longmire Turner (Larry), Jodi Longmire (Mike Kiser), many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, along with several cousins, sisters in law, and many treasured lifelong friends.  

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20 from 11:00 to 12:00 with service following at Quattlebaum Funeral, 5411 Okeechobee Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Florida.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
