Bruce Arnold Johnson

Bruce A. Johnson age 96, of Corryton, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was a member of Clapps Chapel Methodist Church. Bruce was a graduate of Gibbs High School, going on to serve his country in the Korean war, and after his service in the military he retired from KUB after 26 years. Bruce began playing thumb-style guitar at a young age and continued to play up until his passing. 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby E. Johnson; parents, Susie Neal and Pleasant Hobert Johnson; sister, Pauline McMurray, and brothers, Gene and James Lee Johnson. 

He is survived by his son, Jeff Johnson; stepsons, Mike King (Jo Ann) Ted King (Linda); granddaughters: Angi King York (Tom) and Jill King Jones (Chris); great-grandchildren: Joshua and Jared Osborne and Hollyn Jones; great-great-grandchildren: Lauren, Lawson, Braille, and Brooks; brother, Larry Johnson; sisters-in law: Mildred, Gloria and Sandy Johnson; nieces: Gail French, Melody Wyatt and Kim Johnson; and nephews: Gary McMurray, Doug, Allen, Dirk, David and Edwin Johnson. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, immediately followed by a 1:00 PM funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tony Greene. Following the service, family and friends will travel in procession to Clapps Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Clapps Chapel Cemetery, Corryton.
