Bobby J. Padgett, age 78, of Powell, passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. Bobby was born September 20, 1946, in Loudon, Tennessee, to the late Roy Lee and Zula Mae Padgett. He was a member of Atkins Baptist Church in Knoxville, where he loved listening to the choir sing gospel music, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Bobby touched many lives with his kindness. He never met a stranger. He met every month with his Silver Ridge friends for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kisty Padgett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Taylor Padgett; children, Jeffrey B. Padgett, Kim M. Padgett, Taylor J. Honeycutt & husband Chris, and Taylor W. Carlisle & husband John; and granddaughter, Sydney Padgett.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Covenant Homecare and Hospice for the loving care given to Bobby and his family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls chapel. His Celebration of Life service will immediately follow, with Pastor AC Cooper and Preacher Jerry Vittatoe officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Holley Gamble Funeral Home and Mynatt Funeral Home are in charge of all arrangements.
