Bobby Lynn Holbert age 87, of Knoxville, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, faithful Christian, and friend to all, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
A man of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and genuine kindness, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, and service. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a charter member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. He devoted his life to serving the Lord, encouraging others, and living as an example of Christian faithfulness. His church family was an important part of his life, and his steadfast faith guided him in all that he did.
For 63 years, Bob shared a beautiful marriage with the love of his life, Faye. Together, they built a home centered on faith, love, and family. Bob never met a stranger. His warm smile, kind spirit, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcome. He loved traveling, making memories with family and friends, and embracing every opportunity to enjoy God’s creation.
Nothing brought Bob greater joy than his family, especially his two grandsons, Michael and Kedrick. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Lola Hobert and brothers Billy and Gerald (Jerry) Holbert.
Bob is survived by his wife, Faye; daughter, Lisa Holbert McKenzie (Bryan); grandsons, Michael and Kedrick McKenzie; a host of nieces and nephews; a wonderful church family; and countless friends.
While we will miss Bob dearly, we take comfort in knowing he is now with his Savior, hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege and honor of knowing him.
