Billy Ray Lambert

Billy “Bill” Ray Lambert, 68, of Knoxville, TN passed away January 1, 2026 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Angela Lambert; mother, Louise “Mamaw” Lambert; sister, Helen Gaik (Rich); brother, Jeff Lambert (Katrina); children, Cindy Weaver (Tim), Jason Lambert (Cara), Emily Shelton (Nick) and Shanna Merritt (Matthew); grandchildren, Tiffany, Timmy, Tyler, Silas, Sophia, Cooper, Alexander, PJ, Wesley, Mason and Marisa; great granddaughter, Eleanor “Ellie”; sisters-in-law, Bridgett Tucker (Steve) and Lori Wade; brothers-in-law, Robert Jackson Wade, Jr. (Dana) and Joel Andrew Wade (Pat) good friend, Aaron Jones and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Lambert and son, Jason Ray Lambert.

Bill was a member of Callahan Road Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garage, camping and fishing. Bill was a diesel mechanic for over 40 years, a member of Smoky Mountain Bowling League and served as a pit crew member. He was a deeply caring, humble and kind man. Bill was a hard worker who believed in showing up, doing the right thing and taking care of his people. He taught those around him more than practical skills- he taught love, patience, and integrity. Bill was a devoted father and even better Granddaddy. His love was steady, safe and constant- something his family will carry with them forever with broken hearts. We find comfort in knowing he is healed, whole and in the wonderful presence of our Lord.

Family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00pm Monday, January 5, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel. A service will follow at 7:00pm with Dr. Mark Sassers officiating. Friends and family will meet at 1:45 in Cosby Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Pallbearers for the service will be Nick, Jason, Matt, Tim, Tyler, Cooper, Silas, PJ and Timmy.
