Bill White Dean

Early Monday morning August 4, 2025, Pastor Bill White Dean, age 89, of Knoxville, passed away. 

Bill was born on December 17, 1935, in Rose Hill, VA, to the late Edgar and Thelma Dean. He served his country in the United States Army. Following his service to our country, Bill worked for over 20 years as a machinist at Martin Marietta. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Above all his accomplishments in life, Bill was saved, he loved the Lord and his church family at Tekoa Baptist Church where he served as the Pastor for 57 years. 

Preceded in death by son, Jimmy Dean; grandson, Christopher Scott Dean; parents, Edgar and Thelma Dean; sisters, Inez Lauderdale, Betty Patton, Vivian Fagan; brother, Jack Dean.

Survived by wife of 69 years, Jean Dean; children, Gary Dean (Debbie), Angela Dean, Karen White (Arnold); grandchildren, Andrew Dean (Paige), Brittany Watts (Cody), Brandon Gloyd (Abby); great grandchildren, Kennedy Watts, Addison Watts, Griffin Gloyd, Shepherd Gloyd and Camp Dean; sisters, Janice Robbins and Nancy Williams; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Tekoa Baptist Church from 10:00am until 11:00am with a funeral service following at 11:00am with Pastor Lonnie Qualls and Brother Gary Neal officiating. Following the funeral service, family and friends will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Governor John Sevier Highway for a 12:30pm graveside service with military honors presented by the Tri-County Veteran's Honor Guard.
