Betty Lou Smith

Betty Lou Smith of Heiskell, TN, was born to the name Betty Lou Adams on September 24, 1938 and passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Betty loved to cook and spend time with all of her family and friends. She loved to tell stories of her time working in the kitchen at Copper Ridge Elementary School. Much like the garden she planted yearly, she always planted seeds of Christ in everyone she ever spoke to. She attended Wolf Valley Baptist Church and Bishopville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Austin Smith; and granddaughter, Tiffany Kidd.

She is survived by her sons, Tim (Elaine) Smith and Terry (Judy) Smith; her grandchildren, Tim “Bo” (Christie) Smith, Christy Reynolds, Andrea (Brian) Smith, Ben (Racheal) Smith, Caleb Smith; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie (Isaiah) Phillips, Felicia Kidd, Marissa Eccles, Brianna (Jordan) Braden, Jaxson Smith, Jacob Eccles, Jayce Smith, Wyatt Miller, Madilynn Smith and Gabriella Smith; soon to be expected great great-grandchild, Kacen Thomas Phillips; brother, Bill Adams; and special nephews, Ray Keeney and Gary Keeney.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, with a service to follow with Pastor Bryan Harbison officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 1:15pm to go in procession to Wolf Valley Cemetery for a 2:00pm Graveside service.
