Betty Lue King age 94, of Halls Crossroads, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. She was born on January 13, 1930, to the late Arthur and Eva Lewis. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church for 34 years. She was a Christian woman who loved reading, writing poems and music, even having some of her works published Artist on porcelain and glass mediums. She was very socially active and in her spare time she loved to go fishing. She worked for the State of Tennessee for several decades. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Simmie T. King, daughter, Cheryl Carden, brothers, Eugene Lewis and Wallace Lewis, and sister, Reba Allred. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Gary) Pugh, grandson, Nathaniel Donley, granddaughter, Tatanya (John) Winter, and great-grandson, Austin Winter. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 11:00 am- 12:30 pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, followed by a 12:30 pm funeral service officiated by Dr. Alan Price. A private graveside service will be held at East TN State Veterans Cemetery. Flowers or in lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Betty King fund for Home Bound Widows.
