Betty Jo Nowell

Betty Jo Nowell, 85 of Knoxville passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was a long time member of Tower Baptist Church. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Arlis and Hassie Graves; husband, James Nowell Sr.; brother, James Graves and a sister Bobbie Bullard. Betty is survived by sons, James (Nancy) Nowell Jr, Tony and Timmy Nowell; daughters, Debby Effler and Tina Nowell; a brother, Kenneth (Beverly) Graves and a sister Mary (Tobe) Walters. Additional survivors include her grandchildren who she adored, James (Gigi) Nowell III, Lisa (Steve) Farris, Mike Hutchison, Teresa Nowell and too many great grandchildren to list. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 31, 7pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, 2829 Rennoc Road, Knoxville, TN 37918 (865) 688-2331 with the Rev. Toby Webber officiating. Friends will meet at 10:45 on Saturday, April 1 in The Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11am interment. Friends may call on Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home from 6-7pm.
