Betty L. Griffin (Watts), age 86, of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 26, 2026. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. James R. Griffin; sons, Mark and Chris Griffin; daughter, Dolly Fee (Griffin); parents, Sam and Edna Watts; brothers, Alfred and Gary Watts; sister Rebecca Brown (Watts); great granddaughters, Ashlynn Butler and Madilyn Moore. She leaves behind son, Mike Griffin; daughters, Rhonda Merritt (Donny), Sharon Griffin (Dale Hurst); grandchildren, Chris Griffin (Beth DeSalvo), Lee Merritt (Elizabeth), Whitney Griffin, Briana Griffin, Mikey Moore (Shelbie Hill), Chasity Butler (Ricky), Destiny Hickman (Chase), Tammy McGinnis and 26 great grandchildren, brothers, Carroll, Harold, and Ronnie Watts. Special cousin, Helen Lambdin and brother-in-law, Gary Griffin. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Jaciah Stewart, CNA FSRH, Alyshia Russell, RN Hospice, Shelbie Jones, CAN Hospice, and Christina Shelley, SW Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5-7 on March 1, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 with Rev. Craig Lucas and Bo Merritt officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 11:15am for a procession to Fort Sumter Cemetery.
