Betty Ann Barker

Betty Cummings Barker, age 93, of Knoxville, TN, went home to live with Jesus on Sunday, August 10, 2025. A longtime member of Beaumont Baptist Church, Betty was a woman of faith, kindness and had a deep love for her family, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 76 years, Jack Barker; her parents, Phillip and Beulah Cummings; and siblings, Clifford Cummings, Jim Cummings, Ed (Smokey) Cummings, Tommy Cummings, Roy (Shorty) Cummings, Reba Kelly, Alma Holbert, Juanita Wilson, Geneva (Lolly) Lampkin.

She is survived by her brother, Bob Cummings (Mary Francis), along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

After her retirement from Kmart, Betty and Jack spent many joyful years together flea marketing in Maggie Valley and Lake Okeechobee, as well as gambling trips to Harrah’s. Betty had a love for sewing, jewelry-making, and was known for her impressive collection of dolls and Sketcher’s. She was also an avid QVC shopper – always buying gifts for loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, August 15, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Craig Cummings officiating. Family and friends will meet by 12:15 PM Monday, August 18, 2025 at East Tennessee State Veterans' Cemetery Lyons View Pike for interment service. 

Betty will be remembered for her generous spirit and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
