Benjamin Jacob Glover

Benjamin Jacob Glover, 49, of Knoxville, TN died on April 20, 2026. “Jake” was a devoted father whose greatest pride and joy was his son, Cameron.

Jake was a UTK graduate and long-time employee at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he worked as an Electrical Engineer and was involved in the Perseverance Mars Rover mission. Jake found happiness and comfort in music and was a talented musician (drummer) since his high school days. As anyone who knew him was aware, Jake enjoyed a lively debate and was known for playing the contrarian just to provoke one. Watching Cameron play football and perform with the middle school band was his favorite pastime. He will be remembered for his steady love and the way he showed up for the people and things that mattered most to him.

Jake is preceded in death by grandparents, J.C. & Celia Glover of Bluff City, and Benjamin Mostasa Napicol & Atanacia Cedeno Napicol of the Philippines, as well as aunt Judy Glover Sayne and uncle Randy Glover.

He is survived by son, Cameron Glover (and his mother, Courtney Thomas) and parents J.C., Jr. & Eva Glover; uncle, Roger Sayne; cousins, Stacey Morell (Damon) and Sarah Sayne, all of Knoxville, TN. Also many other aunts, uncles, and cousins in the U.S., Guam, and the Philippines.

Receiving of friends will be at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 2:00pm.
