Paul Daugherty

Sep 2, 1968 — Jul 12, 2026

Bedford “Paul” Daugherty passed away on July 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that one day we will be reunited with him in heaven.

Paul was a child of God. His faith shaped the way he lived, the way he loved, and the way he served others.

Paul is survived by his mother, Wilma Daugherty; his daughters, Hannah Daugherty Jarmon (Sean) and Chloe Daugherty; his beloved grandsons, Kaiden and Elijah; his sisters, Robin Sexton (Scott) and Ellen Daugherty; his niece, Brittany Housewright, and great-nephew, Easton; his nephew, Austin Leach (Abby), great-niece Lennox, and great-nephew Swaede; and his lifelong best friend and former wife, Kristy, whom he had known since high school. He was preceded in death by his father, Bedford D. Daugherty.

Paul treasured being “Pawpaw” to Kaiden and Elijah. One of Kaiden’s favorite memories—and one that perfectly reflects Paul’s quiet way of showing love—was Pawpaw arriving with chocolate-covered donuts just for him.

A true jack of all trades with an engineer’s mind, Paul could solve almost any problem. If something was broken, he could usually fix it. He was hardworking, humble, and believed actions spoke louder than words.

One of Paul’s greatest callings was helping others find hope. Through his own recovery journey, he became a source of strength and encouragement to countless people. He faithfully served in his recovery community by leading meetings, sponsoring others, and walking alongside those seeking freedom from addiction. He understood that recovery was about more than sobriety—it was about restoring lives, and he dedicated himself to helping others believe that lasting change was possible.

Even in death, Paul’s servant’s heart continues to bless others. Through the gift of organ donation, his final act on earth reflects the generosity and compassion that defined his life. His family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through his family, the many lives he touched, and those he may now help save.

His life reminds us that a person’s greatest legacy is not the things they leave behind, but the people they love and the lives they change.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
