Barbara Jane Braden

Barbara Vandergriff Braden, born July 14, 1944, passed away at University Medical May 26, 2015. She attended Blount Baptist Church. Barbara worked for many years as a professional caterer and restaurant manager and later retired from Ceramspeed. A woman with great inner strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who worked hard to bind together a very large family for every occasion. Her greatest joys and hobbies included her children, grandchildren, shopping and spending time with her sisters. Preceded in death by: husband, James Braden; son, Michael; mother, Mae Vandergriff Farris; sister, Shirley; brothers, Ronald, Marshall, Lowell and Lynn; step-brothers, Harold, Charles and Kenneth. Survived by: daughter, Robin Clifton; son, Dennis Braden; grandchildren, JT, Cain, Joseph and Noel; sisters, Jean Hickson, Chris Ellis, Charlotte Dockery; brothers, Ben and Danny; step-sister, Florence; many nieces, nephews and friends. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday with an 8:00 funeral service to follow at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City. Dr. Byron Chambers officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45am on Saturday for an 11:00 interment service at Milan Baptist Church Cemetery.
