Avis Setzer

Avis J. Setzer, age 70, also known as “The Birthday Man”, if you ever told him your birthday he remembered, passed away at his home. He was a longtime member of New Beverly Baptist Church and a current member of Son Light Baptist Church. He retired from UT after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Ruth Setzer; and eight brothers and sisters. Survived by sisters, Caroline Tipton of Florida, Lucy Burchfield of Seymour, and Brenda Kay Setzer of Alcoa; brother, Larry (Geraldine) Setzer of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews; special friends, CJ Hulen and Gina Horsley. In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses may be made to Son Light Baptist Church, 6494 Son Light Way, Knoxville, TN, 865-688-7990.
