Arch Joseph Martin

Arch Joseph Martin, 82, died unexpectedly Monday, April 27, 2026.

He left us with a huge hole in our hearts, and we will miss him until we meet again in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne Yvonne Martin; 3 children: Amy Pettit (Michael), Susan Martin, and John Adam Martin (Michelle); 5 grandchildren: Nathaniel Pettit (Anslee), Nicholas Pettit (Riley), Brandon, Preston, and Caroline Martin; siblings: Wanda Caldwell (Frank, dec.), Gilford Martin (Marsha), and Sam Martin (Myriam); and several nieces and nephews.

During the Vietnam War, Archie served a one-year combat deployment in the Army, followed by a 20-year career in the Air National Guard. He retired from the USDA after many years of public service.

It must be said that Archie has many friends and he cared deeply for each one. If you consider yourself a friend, you are most blessed.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel from 3:00pm until 5:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 5:00pm with Pastor Kent Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 12:15pm at the East TN Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, for a 12:30pm graveside service. Military Honors will be provided by East TN Veterans Honor Guard.
