Anthony Ray Phillips

January 4, 1988 — January 1, 2023

Anthony “Little Tony” Ray Phillips, Jr., age 34 of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Tony was a one of a kind soul in so many different people’s lives. He played a critical role in his Father’s (Big Tony) record setting/race winning Toyota Supra “Six Pack”. He had so many friends in the racing community. The father/son duo had reached the pinnacle of their success in early November 2022 when they won the coveted World Cup Finals Championship. Tony was the man behind the keyboard and shared that victory with his team and father, one they will never forget. Tony was also a community leader in the greater Knoxville area, being recently appointed Commissioner of the Powell Youth League Football Program. He volunteered his time selflessly for the development and coaching of dozens of young boys and coached two of his teams to win championships. His passion for football and baseball touched so many young people and will leave a lasting impression as these boys grow into young men. From spring to autumn you could find Tony on the fields of Powell running plays and directing games. From mid-week practices to full long days on the weekends he gave all he had for the improvement of these sports programs. His passion was palpable. Tony’s love for sport and racing could only be trumped by the love he had for his wife Savannah and their two young children (Brayden and Mila). Through the last 11 years of marriage they created so many memories as a family. Tony dearly loved all of his family. One of their favorite places being their annual trip to Lake Powell where they created a lifetime of memories together. Preceded in death by grandparents A.R. and Linda Phillips and Max Everett, Sr. Survived by loving wife Savannah Phillips, children Brayden and Mila Phillips, parents Anthony Ray “Big Tony” Phillips, Sr. (Leah Farmer) and Mary Phillips, sister April Phillips Freeman and brother-in-law, Jason, nephew, Jayden Freeman, grandmother Carrie Everett, aunts and uncles Terri and Harold Ridings and family, Max and Laura Everett and family, mother and father-in-law Tommy and Debbie Nuchols, brother-in-law Nigel Nuchols, many more family members and friends.
