Ann Denise Reeves

Ann Reeves, age 64, of Powell, Tennessee, ran into the arms of her Savior after a fiercely courageous and determined battle with cancer. She was taken from us far too soon, but her exceptionally beautiful soul, deeply empathetic heart and radiant spirit leave behind a legacy of pure love that will echo through generations.

Born to the late Henry and Margaret Stocks, Ann lived a life completely defined by devotion, grace and selfless service. For 43 beautiful years, she was a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Her healing hands comforted countless patients and her gentle, nurturing presence was a constant source of inspiration to her colleagues. To Ann, nursing wasn't just a job; it was an extension of her deeply caring spirit.

Ann was a woman of profound and unwavering religious faith that guided her daily life, anchoring her through every joy and trial. She had an unquenchable love for life and adventure, finding absolute peace in the beauty of travel and her love for horses. Those who truly knew her will forever remember her vibrant fondness for the color purple and the delicate, transformative beauty of dragonflies—fitting symbols of the grace and resilience she held within her heart. Ann was also an enthusiastic and cherished member of several local Jeep clubs, finding immense joy, freedom and deep camaraderie on the open road.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Henry and Margaret Stocks, and her dear brother, Steven Stocks.

Ann’s endless legacy of love lives on through her devoted husband of 18 years, Christopher Reeves, who walked hand-in-hand with her through life's most beautiful moments and stood fiercely by her side until the very end. Her memory will be forever treasured by her cherished children, Paige Wheaton, Zachary Wheaton and Mariah Wheaton; and her beloved stepson, Kyle Reeves. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale Stocks and Alan Stocks.  Ann was the fiercely proud and adoring grandmother to her eight precious grandchildren, Omarri, Doniya, Jaxon, Elmer, Phoebe, Sullivan, Theodore and Matilda, each of whom brought a unique and boundless joy to her life.

In strict accordance with Ann’s personal wishes, she will be cremated.  There will be no public funeral or memorial service.  Instead, her family will gather privately to scatter her ashes in a sacred, peaceful place that held a profound, lifelong impact on her soul—her ultimate place of absolute peace.

The family wishes to extend their deepest, most emotional gratitude to the incredible members of her Jeep clubs. You stepped up and surrounded Ann and Christopher with overwhelming support, love and practical help during her most difficult days.  Your kindness was a beacon of light in the darkness and the family cannot thank you enough.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Ann's lifelong mission of healing, she requested that donations be made in her name to well-established national cancer research organizations, such as the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org or the Cancer Research Institute at www.cancerresearch.org.
