Alvin Christian Thornton

Alvin Christian Thornton, age 76 passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. He was a member of Callahan Road Baptist Church for many years, deacon, food pantry director and church choir. Loved to play piano. 

Leaving wife of 24 years Joy; sister, Charli Heyer (Larry) KY.; son, Matthew Thornton (Wendy) MA.; daughter, Teresa (Joel) TX.; daughter, Alycia, MA. Son of W.C and Aileen Thornton and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends gone before him are waiting for him to come thru the golden gates.

Receiving of friends will be at Callahan Road Baptist Church on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 5:00-7:00PM with a service to follow at 7:00PM, Pastor Mike Patty, and friends Phil Peek and Bo Ambrose officiating. Family and friends will meet at 8:15AM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway on Monday, September 30, 2024 for an 8:30AM interment. Military Honors provided by Tri- County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Callahan Road Baptist Church, 1317 Callahan Road, Knoxville, TN 37912.
